Panel interview with several rounds of interviews I applied for a different position in Redmond, WA, but the recruiter contacted me and suggested me to apply for other opening positions. It seems like they don't care too much about what you applied for, but they will suggest you to try something else that you might be in interested in, so be flexible about your interest unless you want a specific job. There were several Supply Chain, Mechanical Engineer positions for different projects, such as for Falcon 9, Starship, Starlink, etc. I first applied for a Mechanical Engineer position for Starlink, but the recruiter did not think it was a great fit for me, so they suggested me to apply for Sr. Supply Chain Planner position. I did not think I would be a great fit, but I gave it a try. The hiring manager even thought I was a better fit for something more technical, so he suggested me to apply for Supply Chain Engineer position instead. I applied for Supply Chain Engineer position for Falcon 9, but I did not hear anything back from them. I followed up with a recruiter, and they suggested me to apply for a Mechanical Engineer position in Supply Chain for Starship instead. (Remember, this is the same recruiter that told me I would not be a good fit for Mechanical Engineer position for Starlink earlier...). I applied for that position, and had an interview... with the Falcon 9 Mechanical/Supply Chain hiring manager. As I was expecting to speak with a Starship Mechanical/Supply Chain hiring manager, that through me off guard. There weren't many significant differences but Starship one requires 60-85% traveling as opposed to up to 10% for Falcon 9 position. I am not sure where the miscommunication occurred, but I think if you have a good recruiter, your process will be smooth.
