This is probably specific to the team but I had two rounds of phone interviews, with the hiring manager and the mentor. They each asked in detail about my previous projects. Although it was a mechanical engineering position, they asked basic electrical engineering questions.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at SpaceX (Bastrop, TX) in Jan 2025
Interview
two calls, both technical and essentially walked through all parts of resume. a few technical questions were also asked at the end, and then why spacex. second interview was really short and barely asked anything to me which was weird
The process was very technical. Two rounds with engineers on the team, all relating to the first principles for the fluids/structural position I would be put in. Overall, a very good experience.
