Interview
This interview process was incredibly refreshing. Every person I spoke to through-out the process was encouraging and personable – the interviews were designed to be more conversational rather than analytical. They're looking to hire people who fit their culture and every person I spoke with emphasized their favorite part about Slack is getting to work alongside amazing people.
The first two interviews were done over the phone and typically took about 30 mins each. In the final phase, I attended a two hour on-site interview where I spoke with two seperate hiring managers and the individual members of the team I'd be joining. Each individual conversation was about 30 mins. My favorite part about this process was being able to meet with the members of the team I'd potentially be joining – it gave me a window into the role!
Throughout the process they required two writing assignments to determine how you would handle customer-feedback scenarios.

Interview
The interview process took 4 weeks after hearing back (about 2 weeks after I submitted my application online). I had an overwhelmingly positive experience -- the people who work at Slack are passionate and driven, some of the best I've come across. The recruiter did an incredible job helping me to prepare and guiding me through the process and I really enjoyed meeting the team.
I first had a quick screen with the recruiter, then a 1:1 phone interview with the hiring manager before being brought on site. Onsite was about 2.5 hours and it was a combination of 1:1 and panel interviews.

Interview
The Slack team was very transparent throughout the entire process. They provided a good idea of the structure of the interview. The team was professional and had thoughtful questions around leadership skills, support philosophies, and personality assessments.
