I don't go for many interviews at this stage in my life as I'm pretty choosy where I'm going for my next career move.
Even though I did not get the position, I felt that this was a very positive experience. I read through all the other interview reviews to prep for my own interview. There appears to be a lot of negative comments versus positive comments - mostly for developer type roles it seems. I also think people are more motivated when wanting to leave negative feedback.
So here goes - this is my experience....
After applying on line via Slack careers page (with CV and Cover letter supplied) I was contacted via email from a Talent Requisition rep (Dublin office, Slack). I was able to provide a number of days/times that were suitable to do the first screening call. Very simple and quick to arrange.
The screening call was for 50 minutes, and the person I spoke was very personable and easy to chat to about my background and experience. By the end of the call I was very interested in the role, and thankfully was told I would be moving to the next stage for a 1:1 call with the hiring manager.
The call was with the hiring manager (who was temporarily in the US- and not in the UK as per usual) and was arranged for a few days later. Again, very simple to book in the call. The call ended up actually being a video call. I was able to arrange this for when I was at home (due to the timezone difference between UK and US) which made the call a bit less stressful (than hiding away at lunchtime when at the office)
The hiring manager was friendly and I was at ease immediately. The call went for at least 45 minutes. I was told that I would be contacted in the next few days following.
Email received the next day from the Talent Requisition rep asking for another call. I was really not sure which way this would go as it's not often you get another call if you're unsuccessful.
Unfortunately on this call (of about 15 minutes) I was not offered the position and feedback was given about the interview. The feedback was thorough and I understand the reasons why I was not given this particular role.
