I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Sephora (Vancouver, BC) in Nov 2012
Interview
I applied online and heard back within a few days. The interview was at night in the stockroom at the store. The room would not have met code - no emergency exits - stuff everyone - I was actually frightened to be down there. The girl who interviewed me was unprepared and inexperienced. She told me at the end of the interview that she wanted the store manager to interview me and wanted to know which days would be good. I emailed her my availability and never heard back from either of them. This has made me not want to spend my money at Sephora.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Asked me to look at a wall and point out what was wrong with the merchandising/cleanliness of it.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Sephora (Chicago, IL) in Jun 2013
Interview
I went through seven, yes seven interviews for them to tell me that they decided to not move forward with me because I didn't have enough management experience. This was after they recruited me from where I was working at the time. When they first approached me, they told me that they were wanting moving rather quickly with this. They asked me to reformat my resume of which they had and to send it back three separate times. I even had to pay money to have this completed. I've spoken with friends that work for the US Government, that work in banking and investments, and even police detail. None of them had to complete seven interviews. This was a complete waste of not only my time, but my money as well.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Sephora (Boulder, CO) in May 2011
Interview
Total normal interview. Asked me about what i was studying in school, what my previous work/job was, asked me why I wanted to work at sephora, asked me what i could bring to the table, asked me my background in the beauty world, asked me about my future goals/plans for after college, etc.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I think the hardest question was "why do you want to work at sephora?" because... i felt like everyone's answer is the same "um, i love makeup?" try to be more creative than me :)
