I applied through other source. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Sephora (Lafayette, LA) in Jul 2015
Interview
The interview was easy. I was asked to do a fake consultation with the manager after being given time to walk the store. I then had to merchandise a small wall of fragrances. I then did a personal interview with the JCP manager and was on my way.

Question 1
How do you recommend products for someone needing a gift.
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Sephora (Los Angeles, CA) in Apr 2015
Interview
It was a basic group interview. Very short. Maybe 10 minutes. The manager said she was interviewing hundreds of candidates for just a few positions (seems inefficient to me) so I assume it was just an overall impression she was looking for. There were about 8 or 9 of us and we all had to stand in the back room where we were interrupted a few times by other employees so it was not ideal, but group interviews never are. It was okay.

Question 1
Why do you want to work here? Was there a time you saw a manager/co worker breaking rules and what did you do? What item of makeup could you not live without?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Sephora (Indianapolis, IN) in Mar 2015
Interview
I applied online and was called about two weeks later. The entire process from the first interview to my start date was a little less than three weeks. The interview was three parts: in-office questions, a makeup application demo, and a follow up interview. The first and last parts were with the store director, the technical interview was with the Beauty Studio Captain. All three parts were quick and comfortable, one-on-one (which I hear is rare), and I left feeling confident in my work. However, I was not hired into the position I applied for, even though I wanted full time, had completely open availability, and most importantly, the knowledge and experience for the job. I was instead hired as a part time cashier. I was later told that I was hired as a cashier "because we just really needed one". My advice to those going in to interview at Sephora are to be upbeat and positive, but stand your ground and do not settle for a job you know you are over-qualified for.
