I applied online. I didn't get a call back for about 2-3 weeks and I assumed this was due to my lack of cosmetic and retail experience. One night I got a call from the assistant manager and we had an interview over the phone. She sounded impressed with my answers and scheduled me for an interview a week later. I had assumed that it would be a group interview (as a friend who had applied at the same store had been in a group interview the day before), however when I got there it was just me. The manager explained that the AM was very impressed with my answers and skipped the group process and sent me strait to the manager. The interview was VERY relaxed. It felt more like a conversation than a interview. I was hired on spot and accepted. I know this is a fairly unique situation, especially considering the fact that I had zero experience in retail, but because of my passion and excitement I was able to excel anyways.
I applied online. I interviewed at Sephora (Chicago, IL) in May 2013
Interview
Everyone starts off as a seasonal cashier, they are very attentive with whom they hire and want to hire friendly, open people. It is a very long hiring process and can take up to a month to be hired.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Sephora (San Francisco, CA) in Jun 2015
Interview
I applied online after seeing an opening and submitted a resume as well as a cover letter. I got called in for an on-site interview and received word about my offer a few days later. Overall, the process was extremely quick (took place within a week or two). 1-on-1 interview was okay—not particularly difficult.
