I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Sephora (Estero, FL) in Oct 2015
Interview
About three interviews, they ask a lot of background questions, and they do roll play to see how you would react and answer. Each interviewer was a different person, goes from assistant manager to manger and then a roll play. They will then call you back after if your first interview went well.
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Sephora (New York, NY) in Oct 2015
Interview
I applied online and within a week I was given a call by an employee. I was set up a group interview at 230. There was a total of 5 of us and one Sephora employee. She briefly went around the room to ask questions. After that she said if they deemed you qualified you would be set up for a second one-on-one interview. I was then called the next to set up the interview. I arrived at Sephora early morning and had my one-on-one interview. We briefly went over my experience, my past experience, my knowledge, and my interest. She immediately saw how passionate and interested I was in the position, but she had also wanted to make be sure that I was applying for the Seasonal Cashier position and that she would make note that I am interested in Skincare. The next day I was called for my last and final interview with the DM. I met with her and briefly discussed my past experience. She quickly realized that I was the aforementioned candidate who had a great passion for skincare. But I told her I understand that I wouldn't be given the position and that I would be applying for the cashwrap position. She saw how passionate I was about skincare and said that she would rather put be in skincare than have me in cashwrap. So she had me and a Sephora Employee demo on the floor if I was to hypothetically work there. I survived the demo and then 2 days later I received a phone call about finishing my paperwork.
**Key Facts**
They love to know that you have a passion for cosmetics. They like to know you want to further your career with Sephora. They do not want to hear that it is temporary and that you do not plan on staying. You have to truly be enthusiastic for the job. And do NOT be shy. Be open, and speak up. Make sure you get yourself notice. Most importantly, SELL YOURSELF. You are the product and you have to sell. You have to care about customers and truly wanting to help them.
