      Feb 6, 2017
      Anonymous employee
      Sídney
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Sephora (Sídney) in May 2016

      Interview

I saw Sephora was looking for workers in a New store , I Applied online a few hours after the ad was placed, Once my resume and cover letter was submitted I received an automated email directing me to a Questionnaire on their website. The questions allow them to get to know you better and very answer. A month or so later i received an email inviting me to a 'talent party' in 2 weeks. #Tip Arrive early and introduce yourself to every candidate and get to know them better cause they are your potential co-workers. You will be taken into a conference room, it is a really relaxed environment with 30+ candidates. The recruitment team will introduce themselves to the group and give a brief introduction to Sephora, what they stand for and their expectancies of their workers. Everybody will be asked to stand up one by one to introduce themselves to the group, tell people about their current role and what they enjoy about it and something that makes them unique. You will also be asked to sell something in your bag or pockets, so be prepared. The group will then split into assigned groups of 5, you are to build a tower using news paper, and the tower must stand for 2 minutes without any support and be able to hold a bottle of water. Which ever group builds the highest and strongest, will win the challenge. The last step of the group interview is for you to partner up with somebody, and you must do a bold lip or a smokey eye on each other. They provide everything for you including Kat von d lip colours, Sephora collection lip products etc. After this the group will re-gather and watch more videos about Sephora. Then it's question time, this is the time for you to get to know more about them and the job. All successful applicants will receive an email within the next couple of days, inviting them to a one on one interview with the recruitment team. This interview is very relaxed, they will ask you questions tailored to you and your current work experience. The typical scenario questions, availability questions etc. In the following week they will contact your references and if you are successful, contact you 2+ weeks after the one on one interview, so don't stress!

      Interview

Pretty standard interview. A lot of the questions emphasized selling to the customer so focus on that. If they ask what your favourite product is, don’t just say what it is. Try to sell it to the interviewer.
