I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Secureworks
Interview
Round 1 was with the recruiter, and round 2 was supposed to be with the hiring manager, who did not turn up. Instead, a designated replacement logged in to the call, apparently driving to some meeting, clearly got tasked with talking to me last minute, barely paying attention, like not even have seen my CV.
Even after following-up with the recruiter asking for feedback or next steps, they went totally radio silent.
Very unprofessional experience.
I applied online. I interviewed at Secureworks (Bucarest, )
Interview
I applied, got called for an interview, did the interview. But then I found out that they changed 13 recruiters in the past 4 years, these people lasted less than 7 months as an average. Also, I started asking feedbacks around and found out that there's micromanagement there and that the Talent Acquisition Team is not so appreciated by other departments of the company.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
-What volume of REQs are you able to manage?
-What would you do if a HM is not very responsive?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Secureworks in Jun 2022
Interview
Recruiter reached out to me over linked in and spoke on a high level about the position and decided to move forward with a second interview with a lead developer.
Talk with the lead went really well, she explained to me that they use NGRX for their front-end (which I explained I haven't used before) and she said that's not an issue with my experience and wouldn't matter as long as I was a good culture fit (which she expressed I was).
So after this interview they decided to proceed with a take home test that they state they give to every candidate with no time frame but they specify that most people return it in 4 days in order to proceed with the interview process.
I turned in the assignment in 3 days and waited to hear back from HR on the next steps. When they finally reached back (about a week later) they said they would like to proceed with the next technical interview but that since I didn't have NGRX experience they would like to proceed at a downgraded experience level, which I negotiated and we both agreed to.
The following meeting was with two software engineers and we discussed the project, Angular, observables, etc... it was very technical and more of a laid back kind of discussion. The interview went very well and I was able to answer about 90% of the questions correctly with clear signs the interviewers where agreeing with my answers. I believed I nailed the interview and after thanked each other and said good luck on the last interview which was scheduled for the following day.
About an hour later I get a cancelation for the last interview and then an email stating they're not moving forward because "my experience" wasn't enough.
If my experience wasn't enough why waste my time with 3 prior interviews, and a take home test that took another 6 hours of my time? Such a lack of respect for the interviewers time, which is a shame because I had some really great conversations with everyone prior, really doesn't make sense to me. I've been a Senior Developer for about a year now and have about 5 years experience in this field.
