      Connection Center Interview

      Nov 3, 2011
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Sam's Club in Mar 2011

      Interview

I was given 2 interviews by two different people. One interview was given by a team lead and the other was by a manager. Both interviews were pretty much exactly the same. The second seemed like a formality and the manager didn't take it seriously. There were about 10 questions total printed on a piece of paper and each question was followed by a set of 6 or 7 follow up questions. The interviewer would ask each question and then rate the employee's oral answer on a scale from 1 to 4. Each rating was assigned a letter instead of a number. If this sounds overly complicated, it is. But that is the Sam's Club way! Immediately following the second interview, I was sent down the street to an urgent care facility where I took a drug test (the pee in a cup kind). Three days later I received a phone call with the official job offer. I accepted and then it took about a week for me to then attend orientation.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Name a time when you had to help a customer make a decision. What was the scenario? What did you do to help them? What was the outcome? Did you satisfy the customer? What could you have done to improve the customer's experience even more? What did you do to make the customer's decision easier? What information did you provide them with? How many more follow up questions can there be, you are wondering by this point? There are still more follow up questions even after you have stopped listening and started to wonder how many more follow up questions there can be?
