First, you’ll normally have a quick screening call with a recruiter. This is more about your motivation, why Salesforce, and if your background lines up with the BDR role. They’ll also check your interest in sales and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
If that goes well, you move to a first round interview with a hiring manager or senior BDR. Expect questions around resilience, curiosity, hitting targets, and how you deal with rejection. They like stories — so they’ll want examples of times you’ve prospected, built relationships, or worked through tough challenges.
Next, there’s usually a role-play or mock sales call. This is big. You’ll be asked to pitch Salesforce (or a mock product) to a “prospect” while handling objections. They’re not expecting perfection, but they’ll want to see confidence, coachability, and how you think on your feet.
After that, you’ll often meet with multiple team members or managers. Think of this as a panel or a couple of back-to-back chats. They’ll test cultural fit, growth mindset, and how well you’d slot into the high-energy BDR team.
