Interview
Applied online for a posted position on their website. About 2 weeks after submitting my application , I got an email for a phone interview. Scheduled the interview. It seemed like it was conducted by a third party (not Rolls-Royce HR). The interview was only 30 minutes long. Standard questions.

Interview
Application form and then psychometric test. I was then invited for an assessment centre in Feb 2016. HR were great, they were very reassuring and helpful when prepping for the assessment centre i.e. any arrangements that needed to be made. On the day, began with tea/coffee/juice with the assessors/engineers, so you're able to introduce yourself, making it less awkward when being interviewed. Great way to start the day. We then sat the numerical reasoning psychometric test. It was exactly the same as the online test during the application form, only on paper not computer. We then did a 10min presentation to the assessors on why we should be hired by RR for the job. You need to be slick, RR pride themselves on presentation and how they come across, so you need to exude confidence (but don't be arrogant). This was combined with the competency interview. Then there was a lot of waiting around. This gives you a chance to get to know other candidates. Useful for the group exercise which was next. We had to design a bridge to transport a marble and table tennis ball to the other side of the table. The activity/result isn't the focus, but your ability to influence the team and work with them is. Finally, the dreaded technical interview - they literally ask about anything you've learnt throughout your degree, but they first ask you about your interests and your strengths, and then tailor the questions to them.

Interview
The Assessment day involved a number of tasks including a 10 minute presentation you have to give about yourself and why you think you should work at Rolls-Royce and then moved onto competency questions. Then we had to to do another numerical reasoning test which is exactly the same as the application aptitude test but its supervised. then there was a group task and then a final technical interview.
The group task involved working with 4 or 5 others to build a bridge which lead a marble and a ping pong ball into a cup, what they are looking for is you to take part and show you can work as a part of a team. the technical interview covered a variety of topics including Bernoulli's equation, fluid flow, areo jet engines, cad design drawings and a final topic of your choice which you had to explain as if you were talking to someone who had no clue about engineering. I choose how stress effects a wing on an aircraft.
