Applied for CPE role in August. Didn't get any news until halfway through October. The news was that I hadn't been selected for interview (Chemistry graduate with appropriate experience). Whole process is a black-box and it sounds like applications are sifted through HR or even just AI.
Turns out later on a job listing site, the role was merely a pipeline in the case that a role becomes available. It's fishing for candidates.

Received a phone call from the in house recruiter to confirm that i have been shortlisted and to arrange the interview.
Another recruiter subsequently called me to inform me that i have been shortlisted.
