River Island interview questions

Assessment based with over 14 people squashed into the staff kitchen. Found managers slightly dis-organised as couldn't work out who was there or not. I got asked my name again even though I showed my passport coming in and got ticked off list. Felt interview was unfair as never given opportunity to state for myself why I wanted this job so much. The room was full of very young people and although my paired partner was lovely it just wasn't right that she had to tell group my reasons for applying and that some of my points were missed. I felt I did quite well and to be in a group with everyone listening to your answers is an unfair process as everyone basically said the same following each other. Really disappointed and just get an email saying thanks but no thanks . No offer of feedback either. Such a shame as I looked up to river island as an employer and wanted to fulfill a long standing wish to be part of the team but never got the fair chance to sell myself. I felt my age went against me to start off with. I also felt that managers hadn't even looked at the applications themselves. Basically felt like an extra to make up the numbers. Assessments are ok to have but I believe should consist of smaller groups shortlisted from their application more thoroughly and an allocated slot for a personal 121 interview. Then decide on those factors themselves.

I applied on online and 20 mins later invited to a group interview. Basically got invited to a recruitment event on the Monday . There was 6 of us, and we each had to get up and say who our style crush was...i said mine was Gigi Hadid, We then had to get into a circle and give one thing we could bring to River Island...here I talked about fashion awareness and my knowledge of current trends. We then had to get into pairs and demonstrate (role-play)what is good customer service and what is bad customer service. After this we had a 1-1 where we had to state our availability. I then got called on the Friday and was offered the Job I will be attending the induction on Sunday.
