I applied online. I interviewed at River Island (Dublín, Dublín)
Interview
***Before I explain the interview process I want to highlight important facts about working at RI.
1. If your under the age 18 you recieve 2 euro under minium wage and if your under 20 you recieve a 1 euro under the minium wage.
2. If you are lucky and get the job you are only on a 4 week contract if they are not happy with your performace by then your contract will not be renewed.
3. The most hours a day they give are 4 hour shifts and don't have many 20/30 hr roles****
The application is quite straight-forward on their careers webpage they are pretty quick to contact you back if you have been successful.
The interview itself is in store and if you apply online you have to book yourself in to attend the event.
The interview consists of telling about yourself to the group and a fun fact. The rest of the interview was a roleplaying game where you had to prented to be a customer and your parenter the sales assistant and bascially you had to help them find a pair jeans they were looking for instore. That was the interview the interviewer then told us the facts they I said up top and if that we would know by the end of the day if we were successful or not. The whole interview lasted 10 mintues and the other staff instore were so rude. Would not reccomened this process or company to anyone
I applied in-person. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at River Island (Coventry, Inglaterra) in Jan 2018
Interview
It was a group interview. We were asked to "dress" someone in groups, performing different roles as customers and workers. They were looking for smiling people who were kind and good at working with others.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at River Island (Solihull, England) in Dec 2017
Interview
I applied online for a Christmas temp position and got an email about 2 weeks later inviting me to a recruitment event in store. I was so nervous after reading about everyone elses RI interview experience on here, to my surprise I had nothing to worry about. When I arrived at the interview, there were only two others candidates (the manager said something had gone wrong) so it was very laid back and short. The manager was super nice; She asked us a few questions about ourselves and then asked what we knew about River Island (I mentioned what I had read in the wow booklet and why it stood out to me, this really impressed her) before asking us to partake in an activity. In which we had to go on to the shop floor, and find an outfit we would wear to the German Markets and then describe why we picked it etc. (Be sure to include accessories!) After that, we completed our one on ones with the manager, which was pretty straightforward- just be yourself, don't try and act like a robot who never has fun. I went first so after the one on one I was free to go, the manager said she would contact me within a few days. Just over an hour later; I got a call saying I got the job, I was ecstatic as it was my first job. I absolutely loved working there, the whole team was amazing and so helpful.
