      Software Engineer Interview

      Feb 20, 2020
      Anonymous employee
      New York, NY
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Red Hat (New York, NY) in Jun 2019

      Interview

The process was a bit slow. Original phone call with hiring manager was in mid-April and the final round interview was mid-June. Other than that it was a really good interview experience. Done entirely via video chats and phone calls. I interviewed with 4 people (2 at a time) who would end up becoming my teammates. The interview questions were pretty standard and a bit less technical difficulty than I would have expected. I think the most important thing was that there was a strong connection and it was clear that I would fit well on the team. The oddest part about it was the offer process - I got an email from the recruiter at 12:40am asking to connect on the phone for an “exciting update.” I would never have expected to be informed of an offer via email, but I’m not complaining!
