I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Ramp
Interview
Started with a phone screen that went well. Recruiter was kind and professional. The person facilitating one of my live coding interviews was rude, entitled, and unforgiving during a complete crash and malfunction of the platform despite my ability to quickly recover. Their engineers are almost all (~90%) males from privileged backgrounds. I felt unwelcomed and unheard. If you sense any red flags, acknowledge them, and don't feel bad if you don't get an offer because from what I gathered, their culture is toxic.

For front-end, practice React. For back-end, practice using the API framework you know best.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Ramp (New York, NY) in Apr 2023
Interview
First I had a screen with a recruiter. Then advanced to a tech screen with an engineer, non-leetcode. Then advanced to an on-site with two technical, one systems design and one behavioral with an HM. I didn't receive an offer but the recruiter was nice enough to give me feedback. The experience was generally good except for during one of the tech screens during the on-site it was so obvious the interviewer wasn't paying any attention. He didn't say a single word throughout the whole interview, only giving a short "yup" whenever I prompted him to say something. Whenever I looked at the Zoom he was clearly looking at another screen. I get it, people are busy, but if Ramp is okay with treating its interviewees this way, that's not a good sign. Besides that, though, the other interviewers were nice, especially the HM.

Interview
They include a poorly worded take-home assignment on their application which takes a decent amount of time and effort, and even when completed accurately (including bonus questions) no recruiter call or first-round interview was offered. If you are going to include an assignment on the application, let that be the bar for at least a recruiter screen. Otherwise, it's just a waste of time and disrespectful to the candidates.

They provide a URL with a blank page where you need to traverse the DOM to find another URL with a secret word. You then need to create a react component in CodeSandbox that makes a fetch request to the url and renders the word in a very specific manner.
