I submitted an application to Ramp back in March and heard back from the recruiter in May. I went through the screener call, the hiring manager call and then the business case.
The prompt for the business case was extensive and as a candidate doing free work is already frowned upon, but I visibly put in a lot of work and intentionality into my presentation.
After presenting my business case, the hiring manager let me know that he would get back to me the following day. Three weeks go by and I hear nothing. I then get an automated message from the recruiter saying "unfortunately we will not moving forward".
I understand that sometimes people are not a fit, but you cannot request such extensive, unpaid assignments from candidates and not treat them with respect afterward. An email from the hiring manager would've been better updating me on their decision timeline and thought process.
Otherwise, pay the candidate for doing the work.
Such a bitter taste in my mouth about Ramp.
