I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at RTX (Riverdale, MD) in Mar 2013
Interview
My resume got picked up by a recruiter who frequents the Goddard Space Flight Center campus, where I'd applied for an internship years prior to this interview. The interview I received can be described in three stages--one personality interview and two skill interviews. The personality interview consisted of the most common interview questions (company domain knowledge, 5-year plan, etc.). The first skill interview concerned the intricacies of C++, culminating in a few coding exercises. The second skill interview was very similar, except with a focus on Perl, which is widely-used on the project.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at RTX in Mar 2016
Interview
It was easy. I was just caught off guard with the call. Wasn't prepared enough to make an impression I believe. They asked about my projects and if I was willing to relocate. There wasn't any tough question but they wanted to know if I can answer anything about block diagrams and PID controller if I were to be interviewed in-person. No technical questions on the phone interview. They told me to wait two weeks for another call to set-up an in-person interview but I never received it. It's been 4 weeks, and at this point, I am a bit discouraged. However, my online job submission still says "Submission Under Review". I will update if something comes up.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Are you willing to relocate? When are you available?
I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at RTX (Riverdale, MD) in Feb 2015
Interview
Both the phone and face to face interviews were very cordial and friendly. Not much technical questions but mainly focused on your experiences (school/ past work). Face to face interview was more in depth in terms of asking about personality and teamwork questions. They really want to know how you would work in a team and what type of a team player you are.
