I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Qualcomm (San Diego, CA) in Jan 2013
Interview
They were very prompt after the initial contact. Had a phone screen, followed by an on-site interview a few weeks later (it was the end of the year). Phone screen mostly covered my background and asked an easy question to determine the missing number from an array of values 1-50 where one value was 0. On-site interview was with seven people (one at a time) and took all day, with several groups from Qualcomm represented beyond the one who initially was interested. Questions mostly covered work history, but there were some technical questions as well.

Question 1
One questioner asked how to modify a malloc to guarantee that it was 32-byte aligned. Was not prepared for it, though the question itself was not that difficult.
Interview with engineers in the first round. Discuss about experience and job requirements. Talk about the project story in the CV and fluency of coding language. Ask cross functional experience and tech detail in every experience.
