I applied online through the Qatar Airways job portal, and approximately six months later I was contacted with a HireVue link to complete an automated video interview. About one month after submitting this, I was invited to participate in a face-to-face interview consisting of two rounds.
The first round was well-organized and conducted by a recruiter who was professional, approachable, and created a positive interview atmosphere.
The second round, conducted by the hiring manager for cosmetics, was a less positive experience. The pace of communication and strong accent made it challenging to follow the conversation, and the lack of eye contact during the interview created a sense of disengagement. When asked about my reasons for leaving my previous role, the interviewer appeared dissatisfied with my response and repeatedly pressed for further explanation, which gave the impression of doubt rather than constructive inquiry.
Overall, the recruitment process was structured and timely, but the final stage of the interview left me with concerns about professionalism and candidate experience.
