I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Publix (Miami, FL) in May 2015
Interview
The process was very straightforward. Make sure that after applying at JAC, go talk to one of the store representatives, such as the Associate Store Manager. Leave a good/friendly first impression and they will make your application stand out. Arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled interview and do some practice interviews in your head and make sure to bring at least TWO (2) resumes. Ask if they would like to see a copy of your resume even if they didn't ask. The interview was fairly relaxed, but make sure you answer sincerely and put the emphasis of good customer service. Lastly, make sure to have at least 2 questions to ask the interviewer (not just for show) that you would personally want to know (i.e. work environment, priorities, etc).
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Publix (Miami, FL) in Jan 2011
Interview
Fill out application and was called back in a matter of days. The manager wanted to know the hours
I was available and especially wanted employees to be available weekends and holidays which are their peak timers. There was a training period were they introduced us to the company by showing us a short film about Publix and then took a group of us out on the floor to teach us how ring up groceries and bag.
