I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Planned Parenthood (New York, NY) in Feb 2019
Interview
Overall the interview process felt quite relaxed and straightforward. There were three total interviews I went through: phone call with HR, interview with VP and director of development, interview with CEO and VP of development. There was also a writing sample between stages two and three.
The process took about two weeks in total with there being a week between the last interview and when they got back to me with a final decision.
The interviews felt more like conversations and were geared towards why I was applying, why planned parenthood, etc. I was ultimately not given an offer as they didn't feel I was quite the right fit for a grant writer. I would apply again to their organization.

Interview
First, I had a phone interview with HR. The phone interview was very easy. The lady was super nice. She told me right then that I'd move on to an in person interview at the actual clinic, and that the clinic manager would contact me to get that set up.
The clinic manager contacted me the next day, and set the interview for the following Tuesday. It was supposed to be with her and the assistant manager, but the assistant manager had called out that day, so it was just her. She asked me a bunch of pretty standard questions. She didn't seem like she was going to tell me when I should expect to hear something one way or the other, so I asked her, and she told me that I would hear one way or the other from the HR lady (the same one I did the phone interview with) by that Friday.
The next day, I got an email from the HR lady saying they were checking my references and doing a background check, and sure enough, that Friday afternoon, she called me and offered me the job.

How do you feel working for a company that provides abortions?

Interview
Applied, week later was scheduled for an interview, did a phone interview, heard back a week later that they chose another candidate to interview. Why? Because my salary requirements were too high. They wanted YEARS of experience but are paying LESS than $89K for the job. NOPE! I understand that it is non-profit but there are non-profits that actually pay the value of the employee. Planned Parenthood will continue to struggle in obtaining good employees if they don't want to pay them what they are worth. No, that if you apply for such a position that it is very low paying, despite the fact that it carries a lot of responsibility. Nobody with good sense wants to work slave wages. NYC is VERY expensive to live in and this is NOT the 1800's. I'm VERY disappointed with Planned Parenthood and how low they pay. UGH.
