I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at PayPal (New York, NY) in Sep 2024
Interview
Interview Process:
The interview process consisted of two rounds. The first round involved two behavioral interviews where I was asked questions about how I handle challenges, examples of past work, and general behavioral questions.
The second and final round included two case study interviews, conducted back-to-back. Both case studies were focused on PayPal products.
The first case study revolved around launching a paid PayPal subscription model (similar to Amex Gold or Platinum), which currently doesn’t exist. Questions included what additional services should be provided to customers, how to generate interest, and how to make the product attractive to consumers.
The second case study was about launching new services on Braintree. The focus was on piloting these services, prioritizing either small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) or large enterprises, and discussing the pilot approach.
Difficulty Level:
Overall, the interview process was not particularly difficult. A general understanding of PayPal products and some preparation for product launch strategies were sufficient. The interviewers were friendly and professional.
Feedback for Improvement:
While the interview itself was straightforward, the post-interview experience was disappointing. HR did not follow up for five to six weeks despite multiple follow-up emails. When they finally responded, I was informed that they had moved forward with other candidates. I found this lack of transparency disrespectful to candidates and a significant drawback in an otherwise decent interview experience.
Tips for Candidates:
Prepare by understanding PayPal’s products and thinking about strategies for product launches. Be ready for both behavioral and product-focused case studies.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at PayPal (San Jose, CA)
Interview
Easy process including a 30-minute phone interview and a 'super day' onsite that included a case study. Was given a case prompt, had an hour to prep, and then had to present a few "dummy" slides to a panel of 3 members of the team.
