The interview process lasted three months, and apparently is still ongoing. Between one step and the other, intervals of c.20 days occurred during which no communication was received to update me, or simply to "keep the candidate warm".
I finally secured a final-stage interview at the end of May with the Executive Director and another Director. Over six weeks have passed since my final interview. Despite multiple polite follow-ups with the recruiter and hiring manager, I’ve received no response or update — not even an acknowledgment. To then see the position reposted, without any form of closure or communication has been deeply disappointing. I understand everyone is busy and not having time to personalise a rejection email is ok. But to not even send the automated one from Workday is appalling. I can see my application was still active, which has led me to more confusion, given the lack of communication.
Novartis has long been my one and only dream company — a place I envisioned aligning with not just professionally but personally. I never expected such disregard for basic professionalism and candidate experience, especially from an organisation that positions itself as people-first and purpose-driven. Not being selected is part of this game and I am fine with that, but disrespected is not. I do not work this way, nor do I wish to work in an environment where this kind of treatment is normalized. For this reason, I eventually withdrew my application.
