Had a zoom call with a recruiter asking me what Interests I had, what types of projects I enjoyed working on and my school projects that I worked on. Following those questions the recruiter asked basic STAR formatted questions.
I recently had the displeasure of going through what can only be described as one of the most poorly managed and unprofessional interview processes of my entire career. From start to finish, the experience left me questioning the competence and organizational skills of the company.
Firstly, the communication leading up to the interview was abysmal. Despite confirming the date and time, I received conflicting information regarding the interview location. This lack of clarity was a red flag from the beginning, setting the tone for the entire process.
Upon arrival, the reception area seemed more like a chaotic scene from a poorly coordinated event than a professional interview setting. The staff appeared disinterested and disorganized, giving off an air of indifference that left me feeling unwelcome.
The interview itself was nothing short of a disaster. The panel seemed unprepared, asking generic questions that lacked relevance to the position and my qualifications. It was evident that they had not thoroughly reviewed my resume, as they fumbled through basic details and appeared oblivious to my professional background.
The lack of professionalism continued with a complete disregard for punctuality. The interview started late, and there was no acknowledgment or apology for the inconvenience caused. It was apparent that the company did not value the time and effort of the candidates.
To make matters worse, there was a complete absence of transparency regarding the next steps in the hiring process. Despite inquiring about the timeline for a decision, I was met with vague responses that left me questioning the company's commitment to providing a clear and honest recruitment experience.
In conclusion, this interview process was a prime example of how not to conduct interviews. From the initial communication mishaps to the disorganized reception and lackluster panel, it was an unprofessional and demoralizing experience. I would strongly advise any prospective candidates to think twice before subjecting themselves to such a poorly executed and disrespectful recruitment process.
