I applied in-person. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Northrop Grumman (Melbourne, FL) in Oct 2014
Interview
My interview was scheduled at the SWE Conference and it was pretty informal. I interviewed with several engineers at different departments and each was very courteous. Each engineer wanted to make sure that I was a good fit for their team and if I wasn't a good fit for their team they referred me to another team where my qualifications fit better. At the end of the interview, the systems engineering manager stated that they would be extending an offer within the next two weeks; now, I am currently in the hiring process.

Question 1
The technical questions were not difficult to answer at all. If you have even the slightest experience in the field/position you are applying, it will be a cake walk.
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Northrop Grumman

Applied through school's career services and got an interview position, was a 1 on 1 meeting with a systems engineer. I am still waiting to see if I receive an offer or not.

Question 1
For me, the interview was not difficult as I was comfortable talking about my past experiences (mainly school projects) and relating them to the job description.
Phone interview first then interview with two other techs. They were very friendly, but I thought it was odd that they asked me to come in again to tell me I didn't get the job. It seemed like they sincerely wished me well, but it was awkward to hear I didn't get the job in person rather than over the phone.
