I applied online. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at Northrop Grumman (San Diego, CA) in Sep 2015
Interview
The interview was out of state, so the first interview was over the phone. This went well, there were about 4 people questioning me though. After the initial phone interview I was invited out to meet the team and tour the facility. There was another informal interview when I was asked about handling specific scenarios that could occur day to day.

I applied in-person. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Northrop Grumman (El Segundo, CA)
Interview
Took about a month to get an interview. I interview was 1 on 1. Not testing. We walk through my resume job by job. Was ask to rate my skill levels 1-10. We walk around the work area. Was told I'd get a call or email on his decision.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Northrop Grumman
Interview
The interview was conducted in the hiring manager's office, with the accompany of two other employees. I was asked a series of both technical and personality questions. The technical questions were to test your knowledge of what was listed on your resume, along with whether or not you had experience with certain software they were using. It's not too big of a deal if you don't know the software but make sure you can break down the topics on your resume. The personality was pretty simple (tell me about yourself, what do you do on your free time, etc.). Just be honest with that part.
