on-line, then you get to speak with a recruiter, then you speak with the hiring manager via telecom, then you might get a 1-1 person interview, then salary negotiation -- this is a very lengthy process... 30 - 60 days
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Northrop Grumman in Apr 2016
Interview
Applied online and received an email for a phone screening with the group's lead. About 1 hour phone call with loads of behavioral questions which were fairly easy to answer. Could've been offered the job as I was interning in same position with a major competitor, but was turned down due to being a freshman in college with no advanced coursework.

I had an employee referral for this position. The position was not posted online yet, and they wanted to fill the spot quickly, and I was available immediately. I had a short phone interview with manager of the software development. And then I met with the manager of software development in person.
