I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Northrop Grumman (Patuxent River, MD)
Interview
My interview was very simple, as I came into the location as an employee of Aerotek originally. However, the Grumman folks did the interview once they read my resume. I was asked very few aircraft specific questions, and mainly asked about my experience working with the E2-C Hawkeye. The night shift supervisor and deputy shop lead did ask one very specific question that only a person who has worked on the platform would know, which for this location is what they need, as the location deals in test and development of the advanced Hawkeye and true professionals are needed to keep up with the operational tempo they are handed each and every day.

I applied online. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Northrop Grumman in Jun 2016
Interview
I applied on their website to several jobs and after a month I heard back from a recruiter who set up a 30 minute phone interview. The recruiter didn't have much technical knowledge so it was a very general interview to make sure I met their pre screening requirements. About a week later they set up an in person interview with a hiring manager. It was very relaxed and low pressure of which was surprising because similar contractors have been very difficult.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Northrop Grumman (Annapolis, MD) in Aug 2016
Interview
First part was to create a profile on their careers site. Though their site you apply for a position. Then there was a pre-screen phone call to discuss basic qualifications and salary. The next day I received an email with possible interview panel participants, instructions for when and where to show up. Two weeks later the interview was performed by multiple department leads. There was a tour of the facility after the interview.
