An aptitude test which had elements of both general and technical aptitude. It was followed by a GD. The topics varied from current affairs to institute affairs. Then a technical presentation was held, each candidate had to choose a subject and present about it. And finally interview.
I applied through college or university. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at National Instruments (Houston, TX) in Feb 2009
Interview
Communication was pretty good. The interview was challenging, but it's designed to see how far you get before you fail, how you fail, and what you do when you fail, not to make sure you can pass some basic. Hiring was smooth as butter and they had all my questions answered.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at National Instruments in Nov 2010
Interview
I was first approached and called by a local recruiter. The recruiter had setup the first interview via telephone conference. Had the first interview done via telephone conference at home.
The 2nd interview is arranged, I had met the hiring manager face to face interview, while the rest of the team called in remotely via telephone. The interview consist of warm up question such as asking the candidate to explain about himself/herself. The asking the candidate to explain how an Information system works and how to troubleshoot for recovery.
I have a feeling my hiring manager was observing my body language for each of the questions asked. I am glad that I had answered all questions honestly.
