I applied online, there were a few tests and I received an email telling me they'd accepted my application. I got a phone call a few days later and it consisted of being asked questions about my flexibility (whether I could work Christmas Eve, Boxing Day etc) and then a few questions which were like an interview (what does customer service mean to you, what traits does a good team member need etc.) The interviewer then told me to come in for an assessment which would be in a few days, she told me to dress smartly. At the assessment I was with one other person, the woman took our passports to photocopy them and then took us down to the shop floor where we had to act as if we worked there by approaching customers and tidying stock etc. to show how good we'd be with customers. This lasted about 15 minutes and we were taken back up to an office, she told us outright that we had got the job and gave us travel money as well as a gift card. We were given the date of our induction and told what it would entail.
