Interview
Application:
I applied online, There was a short test with basic questions about the position and the whole retail role. After i had completed this i received a phone call a week later where i had a quick interview, just answering 3 more questions- these ones were more related to you and how you would react in a certain situation. They then arranged for me to come in and have a formal interview, for this i wasn't around for the date they had asked but they were really nice about that and re-arranged for a time that was convenient for me.
For my interview I think i just wore black trousers and a smart top. I went in and asked to be pointed in the right direction for my interview. I was only waiting for around 10 minuets because i was early, when a manager approached me and she was immediately really nice and reassuring which made me less nervous. I then had to watch a couple of health and safety videos and then answer questions on what i had just watched. After this the manager said i was going to do a 20 minuet trial on shop floor to see how i approached interacted with the customers, I was so nervous because the manager was watching my every move. However the time flied by and I was taken back upstairs to the office and was offered a Temp 3 month contract. Ive now been at Next for 9 months and my contracts been extended twice, Honestly one of the best jobs I've ever had!

Interview
The application starts off with an Online Application with competency based questions then leads to Telephone interview where you get asked about previous experience, future intentions, availability etc, then get asked to go to an Assessment day where you get observed on shopfloor looking at how you behave towards customers and the ease you get on with other staff members

Interview
Applied online. Then the next day, I received an email telling me I was shortlisted for a phone interview. Then received a call the day after getting the email for a phone interview. Was just asked a few questions and then asked me what day I was available for an assessment in store. Received an email a few minutes after the phone interview with information for the assessment, including what to bring.
During the assessment, in which one other person was there, we were told there was one position for the permanent stockroom assistant but the other would be offered a seasonal temp position and could be offered a permanent after Christmas if any opened up. We asked a few questions (availability, experience) before taken for a tour around the stockroom. We were then split up and given a few tasks to do for around half an hour. Then we were brought together to be told their decision. I was offered the seasonal temp position rather than the one I applied for, in which I declined. It was a smooth, causal process and they were very friendly. Also given £10 as well as a £10 Next gift card for my time. The whole process of the assessment took around an hour and a half.
