Summary: I cut the interview short after 3 minutes because the position turned out to be completely different than what its description had stated.
The good:
- Nice offices.
The bad: Everything else.
- Simply applying for a position at NCR takes very long and requires you to fill out many forms.
- The position requirements listed the following as a desired skill/experience:
"3+ years of relevant experience in management teams of experts". How it got to be an entry-level position for newbs is beyond me.
- There were so many spelling and grammar mistakes in the description of the position that it was hard to understand what the position was about (obviously, I got it wrong). The irony was, the foreword read:
"NCR Corporation is a US headquartered company with a global reach and English is our first language".
It looked like somebody actually tried to translate the position description from Hebrew to English and it turned out almost indecipherable.
- As I was leaving, I politely asked the interviewer why they called me up in the first place, as it was obvious I was extremely overqualified. As a response, I was told I was the "least overqualified among all the overqualified candidates who've shown up", which is the most unprofessional reaction I can think of: It is both aggressive and is basically a confession that many overqualified candidates are being called up and getting their time wasted. It also means I'm not the only one who was mislead by the description.
