I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at NASA in May 2023
Interview
It was supposed to be a "technical interview". I found this to be rather inaccurate considering the questions were barely technical at all. There weren't even any engineers present in the interview, so I didn't have the opportunity to demonstrate my relevant experience and knowledge at a deeper level. I felt like I had a strong understanding of their project and confidence that I could be a valuable asset as an engineer. In my attempts to convey this, I was met with blank stares and awkward silences. I am not sure the interviewers had a deep understanding of the tech stack, considering they weren't the engineers who I would even be working for. The interview was also filled with many awkward silences. I was intent on politely waiting to be asked interview questions, but often, it felt like I was supposed to be leading the interview as the interviewee. Overall, the interviewers were very friendly, I just wish there were other engineers in the meeting so that I could communicate the technical skills needed for them to actually understand my abilities.

Interview
I interviewed for a business-type role and didn't get asked any technical questions. They want to know that you can think the right away and won't be overwhelmed by the information you are asked to understand early on.
