I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at NASA (Santa Clara, CA) in Jun 2019
Interview
Phone screening.
I told the interviewer that I've quit my job a few months ago. He responded "Do you consider yourself jobless?" This is a very odd question, which means that he is judgemental and very conservative in a bad way, and believes that everybody strives to be continuously employed at all times, which is simply not true.
The interviewer asked odd questions. Can I wait for 2-3 months for the "public trust" background check?
Then he said that all NASA jobs that he has pay <130,000/yr, so my expectation of 150,000+ can't possibly be met.
The inter view was performed by a company called "Bay Systems" that said that they represent NASA. The interviewer was located in NYC.
I don't know how can they ever hire anybody good in NASA with this attitude.
My opinion about NASA has dropped after I applied for a job. Now I understand why they are failing in the last few decades, and are outsourcing more and more to private companies. NASA has no idea how to hire.
