Recruiter reached out to me on Linkedin and did the first initial call, it went fine he was nice. However, they made me prepare SO MUCH for the next interview with 2 managers and 2 people from the team.
I've done a lot of interviews and let me tell you this was by far THE WORST interview I've ever done. The main manager seemed extremely snooty and rolled her eyes. The second one was nice but you could tell it was fake. They asked me a bunch of questions which I answered politely. I want to mention that in the beginning I did a little small talk to break the ice.
Now, that was 45 minutes of asking me the same thing over and over again, which again I answered. At the end, I asked them a question about diversity and they gave me a half-assed "oh there are groups you can join" answers. I wasn't surprised, the entire team of people that I spoke to were white, ALL 4 OF THEM and they kept saying how much they value diversity and really focus their energy in making sure they are very diverse. The only diverse thing I saw about them was the video they sent me to do research where they had people of all colors, absolute bs.
Anyway, I put up with their rudeness, constantly asking the same things over and over again and complete lack of diversity and transparency with a smile.
The feedback I got was, I was "too casual" in the interview. If making small talk to break the ice or build a connection is too casual, then are they looking to hire a robot that dances to their every move? It felt very restricting and that you'd have limited capability to do what you'd like. I'm glad I didn't get the offer cause this experience was HORRIBLE.
