Pay range is not published in the job description, so they will try to arrange an initial 30-minute conversation to determine whether you are a good fit. Had a back-and-forth email discussion to arrange a date/time for conversation before another email asked what my salary expectations were for the role.
Given my 25 years experience as a systems administrator/IT support (including work/support for Holkham Hall where they're based), I'm unfortunately worth (according to my existing salary) more than what they are looking for salary-wise. Given this is a London-based job, their budget is just not good enough, even for hybrid working, given the requirements specified for this role. They are offering the kind of salary I was paid 10-15 years ago.
Like most employers advertising jobs - for goodness sake, please publish the salary range for the role alongside your job adverts - it will save a lot of time, energy, and disappointment!
