I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Microsoft in Nov 2015
Interview
2 interviews, one on campus, second on site.
Recruiter was very helpful in scheduling on site interview ( short notice since I had other offers).
First one was mainly technical, nothing complicated. Only 30 min.
Second one was 3 interviews, 30 - 60 mins each with different people.
I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Microsoft (Edimburgo, Escocia) in Jan 2016
Interview
On campus whiteboard coding interview. Interviewer mentioned he didn't have breakfast, and I was the last person before his lunch around noon. He somewhat appeared bored and annoyed throughout the process, just asking questions from a sheet and writing down some notes.

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Microsoft (Fargo, ND) in Mar 2013
Interview
I started with an on campus interview which lasted for about 20 minutes.
I was brought in for an on-site interview at their Fargo location. The interview lasted pretty much all day (about 8 hours) and consisted of 5 sessions plus lunch. The entire day was technical questions, with the exception of lunch, where they ask about where you see yourself and what you want to do with your life etc.
