      Senior Account Executive Interview

      Dec 9, 2025
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Melbourne
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

      I interviewed at Microsoft (Melbourne)

      Interview

Was relatively straightforward, I got 2 interviews but didn't get it, but the hiring manager guy was nice. Lots of focus on my process and previous logos - I think they were trying to see if I really understood cloud tech.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Microsoft in May 2026

      Interview

My Microsoft interview process was positive, professional, and well-structured. It began with a friendly 30-minute recruiter screen that outlined the role, expectations, and next steps, while also clarifying and confirming how my experience aligned with the position. I then had three 45-minute interviews: two with sales directors and one with a technical team member. The conversations covered my background, STAR-format customer scenarios, and solution-oriented selling. Although I was not selected, each conversation was respectful, relevant, and substantive.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Microsoft (Atlanta, GA) in Feb 2023

      Interview

The interview process was comprised of three back to back interviews with various sales leaders. Each interview focused on a particular topic such as sales acumen, technology, and digital transformation. Following the interviews I was asked to wait seven to ten days for feedback. I found the interview process and questions to be exceptional and I wish more companies would follow this format. I felt the interviewers and I had plenty of time to have a comfortable dialogue both about the planned subject matter and my personal background. I found the questions to be very on topic and thought provoking. I recommend doing plenty of homework about Microsoft products and the latest industry trends to maximize your interview performance. If you are not selected for the specific role available and should your feedback come back as positive, then you will be considered for equivalent roles for six months without having to repeat the whole process. Although, I did not get an offer in this case, I have high praise for the process. Regardless of the outcome, I believe the interview process is very fair and gives the interviewee an opportunity to showcase their experience and knowledge.

      Question 1

In fairness to Microsoft, I will not list questions here, but rest assured, all questions are very fair, thought provoking, and relevant to the role you apply for.
