Interview
Interviewers Beware. I had a phone screen with a technical recruiter, and at first she was very nice. She explained to me the interview process, which I describe below. When I asked further questions about the process and said how I prefer to meet the hiring manager and team during the interview (which is a typical process with other companies) so that I can get to know the team and culture, she became rude and belittling, saying things like this is how big companies do it and you would get a lot of career acceleration at a company like Meta but if you want to stay at small start-ups, you can. I was surprised by her question, “Why did you answer my email then?!” to which I replied that I was interested in Meta but I didn’t know the interview process. After that, she said she was not comfortable proceeding with me. This is very telling about Meta's culture and people. Interview Process Part 1. A 1hr interview with 2 coding questions. They give you a prep doc so you know what to expect. Part 2. Multiple interviews with 4 engineers with whom you have coding conversations. After that, they make a decision, and you may get an offer at this time. If you accept, you and hiring managers can get into contact. You can select your team.

What's your background experience? Why are you looking for a new position?
Applied via linkedIn and a recruiter reached out. Had a technical round with two leetcode medium and one leetcode hard questions. Did well, but received a rejection a week later.

Interview
I had a very negative experience. It was due to one of the interviewers I ran into during the onsite interview. This interviewer was very aggressive and angry. They yelled at me for not knowing the answer to one of their questions. I don't care if I don't know how to code 1+1, you should treat everyone with respect. I reported this to the recruiting team. I have no confirmation that they reprimanded this engineer. They said they would look into it that's it. I'm fairly certain based off my previous experiences in this industry that this engineer's rage was due to racism. At the end of the interview process I was told I was rejected and given no feedback.
