I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Meta in Jul 2016
Interview
Was referred & contacted by a recruiter. Process in that sense is a lot like the priority lane at the airport when you have status because they're really responsive and communicative. Then there's a 1:1 interview with a team member via video chat.
You get screened by the recruiter first, then you have to complete an exercise with two parts that are then evaluated by existing team members, without any identifying information. Then they come back with feedback and if they want to move forward, they'll tell you. But they stress how blind the process is.
The recruiters are pretty responsive, the process itself is pretty biased because they're asking existing team members to be criticized by strangers, in some cases, asking people who worked on specific aspects of products to tell them what you'd change. They also want something super visual, but tell you it should only take a few hours to complete the exercise for a role that's not specifically intended to be a visual designer role.
If you're gonna do it, just be sure ahead of time to hunker down and don't be overly critical. Also ask the recruiter more specific questions about what they're looking for, they will probably have some insight and can be useful. Be sure to check your work and let other people look at it before you send it, because they're going to be exacting and since there's no way for them to know who you are -- they think this is fairer -- you're basically going to be judged coldly and if it doesn't hit the mark, then game over.

Question 1
Please explore two opportunities for a content overhaul on Facebook.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Meta (Londres, Inglaterra)
Interview
Met with multiple people on the content team. Was then given a timed UX writing test. Did well on that and was then asked to present on my background. The recruiter was very keen the whole process and then completely ghosted me at the final stage. It was extremely unprofessional, especially since the whole process took 2-3 months and took a lot of time and energy.

Describe a recent experience where you took a big risk
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Meta in Oct 2025
Interview
Was a few months long process overall, that was initially 2-3 phone interviews. Then, I had a zoom interview with two team leads to talk about the role. Overall, everyone was very friendly and communicative. Each person I spoke with left me feeling happy and positive with their friendliness. It was most behavioral questions and “tell me about a time you…”

Question 1
How would you handle a scenario where a piece of content you published was considered controversial?
Muitas etapas, mais de 3 meses para dar um retorno final (negativa dada na véspera de natal). Uma das entrevistadoras sequer leu meu CV antes da entrevista, o que levou a um grande constrangimento.
