I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Merck (Rahway, NJ) in Aug 2023
Interview
Approached by an employee to apply to the position, talked with the HR and then a senior scientist - largely technical. Then I was invited to an on site interview, I gave a presentation and had several one-on-ones with director-level scientists. Also had a lab tour and lunch. It seemed they had a relatively large candidate pool so expect some rigor in selection. There were a lot of behavioral questions about lab experiences which I found harder to answer than some technical questions.
Make a short research presentation about my preview research projects, interest, and future plan. Q&A session after the presentation. Questions are about some technical details of my presentation. People are nice during interview.

Question 1
How do you define cancer recurrence in your project?
Applied online, received HR screening one month later, followed by HM interview and on-site interview (composed of 1-h presentation q&a and 5-7 one on one interview with directors and principle scientists) Everyone was super talented, friendly, and professional. The offer came > 1 month after the final round of interview, so be patient if you are also waiting for the results!
