      Interview

Had a phone call with HR, and I couldn't hear anything because the interviewer's phone was very muffled. As a result the interview didn't go well, and I never heard anything back, even a rejection.

      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Merck in Jan 2023

      Interview

Applied online. 2 weeks later, a recruiter reached out for a 15 min phone screening. Questions like how did you hear about Merck, how did you hear about this position, why are you leaving your current company, do you have experience with protocol authoring, do you have experience with database lock, what are your salary expectations. I was told the hiring manager would review my application then would decide if I move on to a full interview. 1 week later, another recruiter reached out to schedule this first round interview. 1 week after that reach out was the interview. Panel interview with hiring manager + 2 other clinical scientists. Set up is introductions (tell me about yourself), questions about resume, canned behavioral questions. 45 minute duration on teams call with cameras on. They told me there would be a round 2 and potential for more. Two week later, reached out for round 2. 2 week until actual round 2 interview took place. Same set up as previous round. 2 weeks later recruiter reached out to those successful for offer. Everyone at Merck was very friendly, prepared and engaging. I didn’t feel like I received all of the info about the position or process from the start with the recruiter. All HR aspects except for receiving invites/scheduling interviews were painful slow. From applying online to signing letter would’ve been 2 month. Beside that it was good experience.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Tell me about a time you received feedback and had to make a change based off of it. Tell me about a time you had a conflict with a team member. Tell me about a time you trained another team member.
