After a few weeks of applying, I had an initial phone interview and then was contacted a few weeks later to come into the office. There were about 5 other candidates and each of us were placed in a room and had 5-6 different one-on-one interviews, ranging from senior level to analysts.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Most questions were the typical interview questions: "Describe a time you encountered a conflict. What is your greatest achievement."
I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Mercer (Des Moines, IA) in Dec 2009
Interview
The interview process was rather long. The whole thing from start to me starting work there spanned a period of 4 months. I talked to an HR rep several times who was in another state over the phone and then they called me in for an interview where I talked with three different people I would actually be working with (one at a time) - my manager and two other people. I believe I found out I got the position fairly soon after that - maybe a week or so. Salary negotiations took place with the HR rep over the phone once an offer was made - and that took about 2 weeks as well to get everything agreed upon and settled. Then I didn't actually start until several months later. There were no tests I needed to take.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
There weren't any tricky questions at my interview. They asked things they actually wanted to know. Perhaps something about have I dealt with a difficult client before - (because we do that frequently here) and how I may have handled it - or how I would handle it.
