      Graduate Role Interview

      Mar 5, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Londres, Inglaterra
      No offer
      Positive experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Mercer (Londres, Inglaterra) in Jan 2019

      Interview

Very swift and smooth process. Took around 4-5 weeks to complete. Online application first, online video interview next ,then Numerical tests and finally an assessment center. You are offed within a week of the assessment center. The online tests for most roles like this are very similar and as long as you have done your research into the company, why you want the job and can give examples of leadership you should be fine. Most people fall short on the test. There are two, one is a situational strengths which are quite easy. The tests are quite tricky, and they will throw things at you which you may not have come across before. The pass rate is usually 70%. The assessment was quite pleasant and friendly. there were 5 things to do during the day. A 3-4 minute presentation on why you want the job, as long as you rehearse you will be fine. An interview with two members of the business where they will ask you the standard kind of questions on why mercer, name one thing you would like to improve in yourself etc. This is also a good opportunity to get information about the role and business. I found this to be a very friendly interview. The next is a group exercise where you are given some information and have to formulate a plan together. There will be people monitoring you so make sure you speak up and if possible bring other people into the conversation. This part is the one that counts the most. Try to stand out, buy not be obnoxious or talk over others. You will then present your findings to a senior consultant within the business without the group, a little confusing I know. There is also a written exercise you have to complete throughout the day. This part I didn't like because depending on the length of your other tasks, you may be at a time disadvantage. You are given a pack of information and a series of tasks based on that information. One for example is correcting grammatical errors from an email. Its very time consuming so make sure you keep at it! You also have the opportunity to meet recent graduate who joined the business. I went for the graduate analyst but focused on the wrong things in my interviews. No information on pay, they keep that quiet until you're offered, but its apparently "very generous".

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Mercer (Londres, Inglaterra) in Feb 2019

      Interview

We had an online application then video interview then tests and finally the assessment centre. The assessment centre had a presentation included and group exercise. The people were super friendly and even though the individual interview has a panel of two people asking questions its not scary.
