Medtronic interview questions

My phone interview probably lasted about 10 minutes with a talent manager. They asked about my medical device experience (I've a PhD in biomedical engineering but have only a year of industry experience). I think they were looking for experience with a very specific device which I did not have. The recruiter seemed a little disorganized, possible as if they were just trying to get through a high volume of calls with lesser attention placed on the interview content. No emphasis on my abilities, just my experiences. A challenge because my PhD research did not seem to impress. They asked me where else at Medtronic I thought I would fit in, and said they would call back in a few days with alternative opportunities. I felt okay at the time - as if they were interested in me but wanted to find a better fit. However, they never called back and have not responded to my follow up.

I had a very positive experience throughout the entire process. I initially met with the Medtronic recruiters through our local college recruiting fair. After submitting my resume in person and online, I received a call within the week inviting me to sit down for an in-person, on-campus interview. The first interview consisted mainly of behavioral questions, as well as specific questions regarding the experiences listed on my resume. Following the first round, I received a follow up call from a project manager for a phone interview. The phone interview was similar to the first, inquiring about experiences on my resume as well asking behavorial / situational questions. A week after the phone interview, I received an offer and accepted!
