My recent interview experience with Mecca was unfortunately quite disheartening. It began with a phone interview that initially seemed promising. The interviewer was polite and asked thoughtful questions, which made me hopeful about the opportunity. However, after that, the process dragged on unnecessarily for three weeks. I was repeatedly told I was progressing and they were waiting to organise a time with the area manager for another interview. Communication was inconsistent and vague. I rearranged my schedule multiple times, anticipating the next steps, only to eventually be told that they had decided to hire internally. It felt like my time and effort were not respected, and it was frustrating to be strung along when it seems they may have already been leaning toward an internal hire. If that was the case, I would have appreciated transparency from the beginning rather than being put through a needlessly drawn-out process. Overall, it was a horrible and disappointing experience that left a very negative impression of the company’s recruitment practices.
