Well, my interview process with Marriott was a weird one. I applied for the position of front desk associate and received a call 5 days later in response to my application. The woman identified herself as the front desk manager and proceeded to ask me questions about my application before she asked me to come in for an interview. I asked her which day was best for her since I pretty much anytime was available for me so she stated she wanted to set the interview for Friday morning at 10am (she called on a Tuesday). The appointment was set and I showed up on a gloomy and rainy Friday morning at 9:30am (I am always early) to a confused front desk associate who states that the manager isn't in and assumed she must have meant 11. So, I sat around until 11am just to find out that the manager wasn't coming in at all! She did not show up nor did she call to inform me that our interview was cancelled.
Apparently, the assistant front desk manager felt sorry for me since I traveled and waited all that time. She conducted a group interview with another manager. I am not sure of the results just yet but I thought it was very unprofessional of her not to call before I made a trip there. Everyone was really nice there though. If it wasn't for the crummy manager then they would have gotten an excellent review from me.
